Paintings in Action
My first two dimensional diptych is show here in the state of creation. The iron is not simply splashed on in a random fashion. The composition is partially calculated prior to my hands (or the ladle) receiving the molten iron. The nature of the activity, however, does require quick action making the work largely the product of spontaneous, chaotic creativity. The iron is removed from the surface as soon as possible. It will do considerable damage if left on the image plane too long. Some are great, some are fantastic and some are terrible. The latter seems to be in the minority thus far.
