Portfolio > Radiator Sculptures

The Madonna rests atop a nickel chrome plated plinth with a knob on the front. An electric heating element runs up through the center of Her form. As the viewer turns the knob the Madonna generates more heat. This heat is the physical manifestation of Her aura which I have appropriated here. The sculpture is lit from above and directly in front with a single pin spot. The light reflects off the chromed base and shines on the wall to represent her halo.

This is not intended to be a religious sculpture per se, but of course I cannot control the viewer's interpretation.

It is one of my favorite works in the series.
