Steam Sculptures
This was my contribution to a two person exhibition at the Black & White Gallery in Williamsburg (Brooklyn). My installation received a Best In Show review in the Village Voice and was on display for three months. I wanted to create an anti-fountain where water was transformed into steam to act as an allegory for lost memories. The combination of chilly and crisp winter air, dripping water, hissing steam and the surreal, quiet industrial feel of the cinderblock courtyard created an apt setting for the contemplation of lost memories. The clocks on the wall have no hands because "Time is the nemesis of memory".
