Portfolio > Steam Sculptures

Mnemosyne (pronounced ni-mah-zini) was the name of the goddess of memory in Greek mythology.

This sculpture was first shown at Diesel Gallery in Red Hook Brooklyn where I held a fantastic molten iron performance in a snow storm (see Molten Iron Performances and Iron Pours on the home page). It was the predecessor for the "Memory Fountain" and the earliest attempt at removing found object status from my work. Here I am focusing more closely on heat, steam and that which is ephemeral.
